Ian Lahiffe
GM and Co-Founder
Co-Founder and General Manager
Ian Lahiffe has been based in China for fourteen years and is Co-Founder and General Manager of Jing Management Agritech. Ian was formerly New Business General Manger for Alltech in China and also Lead Operations for Allflex Livestock Intelligence in Asia. Ian is very active in the agri-food technology space in China. He has experience working on a range of projects, including food traceability systems, technology acceleration and working to develop exchanges between China’s nascent beef sector and international best practice. Ian is a thought leader on Chinese agri-technology and market trends, writing regularly on the sector and speaking at conferences across China, and internationally. Ian is an Industry Mentor to Bit x Bites, China’s first agri-food accelerator, and a Mentor on China Agricultural University’s Elite Cattleman Programme.
Ian holds a Master’s Degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from The School of Oriental and African Studies in London, achieved prior to moving to Beijing to take up a role with the European Union. Ian speaks fluent Mandarin having completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Mandarin studies (on a Chinese government scholarship) at Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Ian grew up on a dairy farm in Ireland, studying Music and Modern Irish at Trinity College, where he was Organ Scholar and Conductor of Trinity Orchestra and Trinity Singers. Ian has been a lay clerk at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, and has held down a number of professional organist positions in Dublin and London.

Paul Fogarty has lived in Beijing for over a decade and is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of JM Advisory. Previously, Paul held various roles in Alltech where he was responsible for leading different business segments in China, including beef, on-farm dairy, as well as machinery. He then worked for MSD as Asia lead for IdentiGEN where he was responsible for developing the Asian market.
Paul speaks fluent Mandarin, holding a Masters Degree in Chinese Law from the University of Chinese Politics and Law, focusing on Chinese Import Law Policy which was funded by a Chinese Government Scholarship. Prior to achieving his Masters Degree, Paul was part of one of the early cohorts to study Chinese in UCD, where he completed a BCOMM International, studying Chinese at the Confucius Institute.
Paul has a keen interest in sports and is very active in the Irish community in Beijing, having held several leadership positions with both Beijing GAA and Beijing Celtic over the years.
