Scenario: A product sourcing and development request came in from a large European machinery distribution company looking to develop a solution to manage the birds on European farms during migratory months that damage feed structures on farm?

Solution: JM Advisory was able to develop a specific solution for the customer, which included a new partnership with a hardware + software specialist who came up with a bespoke laser designed to eliminate the pests. 

 

Result: The bespoke solution provided by JM Advisory, ensured that this company grew its Asian sales, and included identification of new partners in Thailand, Vietnam, China and Indonesia. Following the successful deployment of these Lasers, JM Advisory supported LY Lasers to further develop and launch a more advanced  AI-enabled laser that could detect birds and humans on farms, increasing the efficiency and use cases for these types of lasers.

Animal Nutrition

Scenario: NABT approached JM Advisory looking for support to roll out a new section of its business.

 

Solution: JM Advisory worked with China's leading Phage company NABT to design a market strategy for the company's new ruminant business. Working with industry leaders and NABT's technical team, JM Advisory helped the company to launch three new products and build its business. The products focus on providing nutrition solutions to help deal with stress encountered by livestock during transport, as well as bespoke nutrition solutions for dairy cows in older animals for example.

Result: The initial research and development work resulted in JM Advisory taking an equity stake in NABT's Ruminant business where we continue the commercial rollout of these products in China. We intend to commence exporting the products internationally in H2 2025.

Kombucha Product Development

Scenario: Limited provision of healthy beverages in China.

 

Solution: JM Advisory partnered with a leading F&B research organization as the primary consultant researching International F&B trends. The research focused on the lack of healthy beverages in China and the fact that it was a growing product category. Through JM Advisory's global network, a world-class brewer was invited to join the project. The research identified Kombucha as a category with huge growth potential in the Chinese market.

 

Result: Working with the F&B research organization network and Chinese KOL's, the Kommunity brand was launched in H2 of 2024 and early batches of the product were released at year end 2024. The product is currently available in five cities in China with a population of over 150m people and we see it as a huge opportunity in the coming years.
